About The Position

The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people experiencing poverty to overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential by providing holistic, long-term support for their education. We are seeking 4 x Family Partnerships Coordinator’s to implement The Smith Family's scholarships and take a strength based, family led practice approach to support stronger educational outcomes for students and maintain key relationships with a range of stakeholders, including families on the program, partner schools, community groups and volunteers. Reporting to the Team Leader and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will: Liaise with Schools and Principals on the progress of student referrals to the program Enhance relationships with key people in Schools to positively impact on attendance and school completion rates Use a strengths-based approach to build family's capacity to support their children's education Take a family led practice approach to maximise school attendance and support key transitions Ensure excellent database management and administration support for students.

Requirements

  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills (including computer literacy, data entry and time management)
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining relevant community partnerships
  • Proven experience in working with families taking a family partnership approach
  • Hold a current driver’s licence
  • National Police Check
  • Working with Children’s Check
