Family Partner - Weekend Relief
About The Position
Riverside Community Care's Behavioral Health Services Division is seeking a Family Partner with lived experience raising a child with behavioral or developmental support needs and knowledge of available services. This relief position involves supporting parents during their child's psychiatric emergency assessment. Family Partners will work from the Milford, MA office and travel locally, collaborating with Master's level clinicians to stabilize youth in crisis. They will assist parents in navigating the mental health system and guide them through the process. A key requirement is demonstrated personal experience with special education, DCF, DMH, DDS, or the mental health service delivery system on behalf of a child.
Requirements
- Lived experience raising a child with behavioral or developmental support needs.
- Sound knowledge of the network of available services to families and youth.
- Must be a parent with lived experience navigating the special education, DCF, DMH, DDS, or mental health service delivery system on behalf of your child.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to parents during a psychiatric emergency assessment of their children.
- Travel to locations in the local community.
- Work collaboratively with Master’s level clinicians to intervene and stabilize youth in crisis.
- Provide support to parents or guardians by helping them navigate the mental health system.
- Direct parents toward each step in the process.
