About The Position

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for a contract assignment at Piñon Health Center. This role offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive, community-focused care across the lifespan while making a meaningful impact in an underserved population. The clinic serves patients of all ages. The credentialing process may take up to 90 days. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Candidates should be adaptable and willing to support evolving clinical needs. Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services follows an Indian Preference Policy. Preference is given to qualified Native American candidates in accordance with applicable laws.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a family or Clinic NP
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a federal background/security clearance
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Family Nurse Practitioner required)
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of recent clinical NP experience required
  • Active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Active DEA registration (if prescribing within scope)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • Proof of education (diploma or transcripts required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Indian Health Service (IHS) or tribal healthcare systems preferred
  • Experience working in rural or underserved communities strongly preferred
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care services to patients across the lifespan in an outpatient clinic setting
  • Conduct routine exams, chronic disease management, and acute care visits
  • Provide pediatric care including well-child exams, sick visits, and developmental screenings
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions
  • Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Administer immunizations and manage preventive care services
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
