About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Family Medicine team. The role involves working in a care team setting, collaborating with physicians and allied health staff, and focusing on population management strategies to improve chronic illness outcomes. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient evaluation, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications and treatments, providing non-pharmacologic therapies, and counseling patients. The exact practice location will be determined based on practice needs at the time of hire, with potential sites including the Baldwin Building, NW Clinic, NE Clinic, SE Clinic, and Kasson Clinic.

Requirements

• Family Nurse Practitioner: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP.
• Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice.
• Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
• The candidate should be comfortable with autonomy, independent decision making, and possess excellent communication skills.
• The candidate will function as a member of a care team.

Nice To Haves

• DNP is preferred for Nurse Practitioners.
• DMSc is preferred for Physician Assistants.
• NP or PA provider experience preferred.
• Experience in primary care preferred.
• Previous experience working with pediatric as well as adult patients preferred.
• The preferred candidate will be a team player, who is comfortable seeing patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Work in a care team setting in collaboration with other team members including physicians and other allied health staff.
• Be involved in population management strategies to improve chronic illness outcomes.
• Provide comprehensive evaluation, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmacologic agents and treatments, non-pharmacologic therapies, and counsel patients.
• See patients for chronic disease management, preventive care, health promotion and acute care.
