About The Position

Galileo is seeking a culturally sensitive Family Medicine Physician to join their primary care medical group. This role involves providing high-touch, data-driven, multi-specialty, longitudinal care to diverse and complex patients. The position is hybrid, requiring travel for 2-3 consecutive days per month to employer onsite clinics in Bastrop, TX, and McGregor, TX. Remote virtual time will be dedicated to follow-up care for these patients and visits with the national network of virtual patients. The physician will leverage data, technology, and operational rigor to optimize patient outcomes, offering personalized care and shared decision-making.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of clinical experience in chronic care and primary care for all ages
  • Comfort with basic procedural skills
  • Experienced in or have an appetite for learning digital-first healthcare (e.g. virtual medicine)
  • Interested in new, innovative models of care that balance evidence-based approaches with creative ideas
  • Highly comfortable with using technology and various applications to deliver care to patients virtually. Our current tech stack is: Proprietary built clinician-patient platform , Google Suite (gmail, sheets, docs, etc), Zoom, and Slack
  • Active board certification in Family Medicine
  • Active licensure in Texas or ability to obtain license by start date with Galileo
  • Strong communication skills, especially the ability to translate complex ideas into simple language

Nice To Haves

  • Professionally fluent in English/Spanish including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the cultural nuances for native Spanish speakers in a medical setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class care for Galileo patients managing preventive care and chronic illnesses through our innovative, proprietary app and technology and your excellent clinical judgment
  • Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients from age 0-100 across all needs, including complex, chronic medical conditions such as: diabetes, hypertension, obesity and mental health
  • Work with a diverse patient population, fostering an inclusive culture.
  • On a monthly basis, travel to provide care to patients at onsite health clinics.
  • Solve patient problems in an efficient, nimble manner by drawing on resourcefulness, collaborating with team members to leverage their expertise, and a “can-do” approach.
