About The Position

CEC Healthcare (Charles Evans Center) is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Family Medicine Physician to join their team on a part-time basis. CEC Healthcare, as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), provides integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health services to adults and children across the community. Their patient population includes individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), serious mental illness (SMI), behavioral health conditions, and substance use disorders, as well as underserved community members requiring comprehensive primary care services.

Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
  • Active New York State Physician License
  • Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience providing care in an outpatient setting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), serious mental illness (SMI), behavioral health conditions, and/or substance use disorders.
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, or underserved setting.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), serious mental illness (SMI), behavioral health conditions, and substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health and care management teams to support patients with complex medical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care across disciplines.
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor treatment effectiveness.
  • Perform office-based procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
  • Participate in an integrated care model focused on improving health outcomes for vulnerable and underserved populations.
