About The Position

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a Family Medicine physician to join the UW Health Yahara Clinic. This physician faculty member will provide the full spectrum of family medicine skills and patient care. Maternity care (OB) and newborn rounding are optional. The position involves clinical teaching of medical students and other learners, and may include academic scholarly work. Duties include patient care, teaching, participating in a clinical faculty call schedule (phone call only), nursing home visits, departmental meetings, and administrative duties. Optional participation in obstetrics/maternity care and/or newborn rounding is available. If practicing OB, the physician would join a shared OB call group. The successful applicant may also participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. Collaboration with other faculty members is essential. This position is full or part-time (80%-100%) and requires onsite work at a designated campus location. This is a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations, requiring a caregiver check every four years. Applicants may be considered for the titles: Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), with the final title determined by the finalist's experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • WI Medical license by the start date of the position.
  • Board-certified or board eligible by American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) by start date of position.
  • MD or DO, or equivalent required.
  • Continuous eligibility to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment.
  • Proof of work authorization and eligibility to work.

Nice To Haves

  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the full spectrum of family medicine skills and patient care.

  • Conduct nursing home visits.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Perform administrative duties as necessary.

  • Work in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
