About The Position

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a Family Medicine physician to join the UW Health Yahara Clinic. This physician faculty member will provide comprehensive family medicine care, with optional maternity care (OB) and newborn rounding. The role includes clinical teaching of medical students and other learners, and may involve academic scholarly work. Duties encompass patient care, teaching, participation in a clinical faculty call schedule (phone only), nursing home visits, departmental meetings, and administrative tasks. The position is full or part-time (80%-100%) and requires onsite work at a designated campus location. This is a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations, requiring a caregiver check. Applicants will be considered for various Clinical Professor titles based on experience.

Requirements

  • WI Medical license by the start date of the position.
  • Board-certified or board eligible by American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) by start date of position.
  • MD or DO, or equivalent required.
  • Continuous eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the full spectrum of family medicine skills and patient care.
  • Provide clinical teaching of medical students and other learners.
  • Participate in clinical faculty call schedule (phone call only).
  • Perform nursing home visits.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Perform administrative duties as necessary.
  • Optional participation in obstetrics/maternity care and/or newborn rounding.
  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
  • Work in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
