About The Position

One Medical is seeking a per diem Family Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care in one or more clinics in the Chicago suburbs, including Deerfield, Skokie–Old Orchard, and Oak Brook Promenade. This casual, hourly role involves 8–23 patient-care hours per week and pays $67 per hour on a W-2 basis. Skokie–Old Orchard has Saturday shifts available, and the work schedule may change based on business direction. The clinician will care for patients with a broad range of needs, providing acute, chronic, and wellness visits rather than building a patient panel. Care is delivered in person and through occasional telehealth visits. The role includes collaboration with clinic teammates through daily huddles and with virtual clinical teams, use of the clinician’s training in appropriate in-office procedures, and willingness to obtain additional state licensure and credentialing for virtual primary care in other states. The position requires at least two years of primary care experience, board certification, and an active Illinois license or the ability to obtain one. Providers should be committed to human-centered, evidence-based care, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, use technology effectively, work well as part of a team, and adapt to changing or uncertain situations. Per diem clinicians receive malpractice insurance, an UpToDate subscription, a company-issued laptop for secure EHR access, and sick-time PTO in accordance with local requirements. The posting describes additional benefits for regular team members working 24 or more hours per week and lists clinician-specific offerings, including an annual CME stipend, weekly learning rounds, and a discounted rate for One Medical’s annual REAL primary care conference.
