About The Position

This is a full-time, exempt Nurse Practitioner (NP) opportunity located at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton, NY and Downsville, NY. The role involves providing general medical care and treatment to patients of all ages, under the direction of a physician. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating patient care plans, and referring patients to specialized resources when necessary. The position requires shared call every 5-6 weeks with one week on. Candidates must be board-certified and eligible for licensure in New York State.

Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
Possession of an NPI (National Provider Identification) number
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program
Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse License
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification
Current NYS Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license and certification with New York State Education Department
Documentation of current CPR certification required within one (1) week of hire, with maintenance of current CPR certification during employment
Certified Prescriptive Privilege in NYS
Must be board certified and able to be licensed in the state of New York

Responsibilities

Provide general medical care and treatment to patients in our medical facility, under direction of physician.
Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
Record physical findings, and formulate plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
Discuss cases with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
Refer patients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
