About The Position

A Licensed Practical Nurse who provides nursing care to patients and performs additional functions under the supervision of a physician or provider. The LPN conveys a positive image of the practice. Requirements

• High school diploma and LPN diploma required.
• Current licensure from the State of Connecticut and/or New York, when necessary.
• Excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills required.
• Ability to multitask is essential.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
• MMR vaccination required.
• Varivax (chicken pox vaccine) or evidence of prior chicken pox required.
• Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination required for those with potential exposure to blood or body fluids.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of medical practice experience preferred.
• Ability to assist physicians in minor procedures, where applicable.
• EMR experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Tdap and influenza vaccination are strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned patient care responsibilities.
• Identifies themself to patients and families and explains the roles of each member of the care delivery team.
• Performs assigned administrative responsibilities.
• Sends and receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into Epic.
• Performs assigned environmental responsibilities.
• Sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
• Performs other related organizational duties as assigned.
• Maintains patient autonomy, confidentiality, and dignity.
• May assist with and/or perform chaperone duties for patient medical procedures as needed.
