About The Position

Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking a Family Hope Center Director to provide leadership, management, and direction to the Family Hope Center staff and professional resources. This role is responsible for ensuring programmatic services align with the Buckner Family Hope Center model, directing daily operations, and ensuring quality services for clients and their families. The Director will also ensure compliance with State licensing standards and Buckner’s mission, policies, and procedures, while developing and implementing plans to utilize Family Hope Center programs and services in collaboration with other entities. This position offers the opportunity to "shine hope in the lives of others."

Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of social service operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work or other related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior related supervisory experience and program development of community-based services.
  • Prior related experience must include development and management of social service programs such as missions and/or community ministries.
  • Proficient ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Proficient working knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory standards and requirements governing programs and services.
  • Ability to effectively interact and conduct strategic ministry business at the highest levels within the community.
  • Ability to sell strategic ministry opportunities with constituencies.
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable.
  • Must provide proof of liability insurance and be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy.
  • Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
  • Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Family Hope Center programs and services are in alignment with approved core programs and models, including the Family Strengthening Framework, and that all FHC staff understand these.
  • Implement and evaluate Family Hope Center programs and services according to approved models, and recommend program design adjustments.
  • Recommend policies and procedures for program aspects of the Family Hope Center and communicate established goals and guidelines to staff, contracted professionals, and volunteers.
  • Oversee observation and handling of issues concerning the health and development of children in accordance with industry requirements and standards.
  • Identify and implement strategies and resources to improve the delivery of services to children, youth, and adults.
  • Participate as a team member with other management staff to review client, program, personnel, and organizational issues and resolutions.
  • Ensure Family Hope Center maintains compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements and guidelines, facilitate agency inspections, and maintain an attractive, clean, and safe physical environment.
  • Assist in the development of long-range planning for program initiatives, focusing on creative and innovative ways to meet community needs.
  • Provide leadership, support, promotion, and direction of FHC ministries, determined by community needs assessments and implemented according to available resources, leadership, and volunteers.
  • Coordinate volunteers and/or mission groups for projects in collaboration with the FHC.
  • Coordinate the overall strategy for the Family Hope Center related to the surrounding area, including identifying, evaluating, and building relationships with potential collaborative partners (churches, individuals, organizations, agencies).
  • Implement the overall strategy through a "business plan" including goals/benchmarks related to the number of lives impacted.
  • Source, hire, supervise, monitor, evaluate, and provide direction to direct reports, including professional growth and development, goal communication, monitoring, constructive feedback, and annual performance evaluations.
  • Effectively manage work schedules, activities, and program resource utilization to meet business plan objectives and budgetary guidelines.
  • Discuss and resolve personnel issues, including commendations and disciplinary actions, with appropriate documentation.
  • Supervise volunteers, designated Buckner staff, and contracted professionals, assisting in recruiting, screening, training, matching, and supporting volunteers.
  • Review incident reports and follow up in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Audit charts and records and evaluate against applicable standards and regulatory guidelines, making corrections as appropriate.
  • Provide timely and accurate information through regular reporting mechanisms related to program effectiveness.
  • Work nights and weekends as required to meet business needs.
  • Work effectively with culturally diverse children, youth, and families.
