About The Position

The Family Child Care Coordinator (FCCC) will manage and implement the Family Child Care Option program under the guidance of the Area Manager. This role involves connecting families to licensed providers, conducting site visits, and fostering relationships with local agencies. The FCCC will also coordinate training, workshops, and parent engagement activities to create a nurturing and educational environment for children aged 0-5. This position requires fluency in at least two languages, one of which must support the program and community needs. Applicants must also submit unofficial transcripts to verify Child Development/Early Childhood Education units.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD), or related field.
• Two years of teaching experience with children ages 0-5.
• Minimum of twelve ECE/CD core units and three infant/toddler development units (or completion within one year of employment).
• Experience in public relations, presentations, training, and workshops is highly desirable.
• Must hold or qualify for a Site Supervisor Permit within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in a licensed day care center or comparable home day care for children ages 0-5.
• Dependable, insured transportation and a valid California Driver License.
• Fluent in two or more languages, including at least one language that supports the needs of the program and community.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, enroll, and re-certify children in the Family Child Care Program.
• Promote parent involvement and provide program orientation.
• Support families in identifying resources and setting goals.
• Conduct site visits to monitor and support child care providers.
• Provide training and technical assistance to child care providers.
• Develop educational materials for child care providers.
• Ensure providers meet program standards and state requirements.
• Build strong partnerships with child care providers, offering on-site training, support, and educational resources.
• Perform administrative tasks.
• Maintain records.
• Assist in updating and implementing program policies.
• Conduct monthly parent and provider meetings.
• Attend relevant trainings to enhance program quality.
