About The Position

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), a leading not-for-profit organization, is seeking a full-time Intact Child Welfare Specialist. This role involves providing comprehensive casework services to ensure the safety and well-being of children by assisting families in meeting minimum parenting standards. The work must comply with state mandates, agency policies, and program plans. LSSI has a long history of making a difference in the lives of children and families and continues to be a strong presence in Illinois.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or degree in related human services field required.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS required.
  • State licensing/certification as required by the state of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Child Welfare Employee License (CWEL) or ability to obtain required.
  • Child Endangerment Risk Protocol (CERAP) required.
  • Specialty required.
  • Training in KEEP and/or GenerationsPMTO or availability to participate in training, coaching and fidelity to certification once hired required.
  • Successful completion of CCS Bootcamp required.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate families, youth, and foster parents to participate in detailed interventions models.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Proof of valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of Client-Centered Service Planning and Aftercare Planning Training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently refine practice to achieve outcome measures established by organization CQI process as well as contractual and program plan requirements.
  • Respond to all incoming correspondence and questions in a timely manner; including but not limited to inquiries received via email, telephone, text message, and fax.
  • Ensure reasonable measures are taken to protect confidential and/or sensitive information as well as ensuring the security of all LSSI systems is maintained.
  • Responsible for completing all required training assignments as well as complying with the related organizational, administrative, and programmatic policies.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
