Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Family Safety, Family Care Monitors are expected to maintain the safety and security of all residents in the facility. This involves performing staff-specific posts, conducting security rounds, enforcing facility rules for residents and visitors, and reporting any incidents or conditions that could affect safety or the orderly operation of the facility. They are also responsible for responding to resident emergencies, intervening in altercations, assisting with medical emergencies, responding to neglect or abuse cases, liaising with emergency services, and acting as a fire safety coordinator. Additionally, they develop helping relationships with residents, encourage self-reliance, and serve as role models. The role involves administering operational procedures for access control, reception, fire patrol, surveillance, and documentation, including verifying school departures, maintaining logs, testing alarms, assisting visitors, and answering the switchboard. They also manage and inventory client supplies, register new clients, orient them to the facility, and ensure documentation is completed. Facilitating vacancy control by accepting referrals outside business hours and communicating effectively with interdisciplinary staff are also key duties. This position requires three (3) days of training prior to the assigned schedule.
