About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Family Based Therapist to join their program in Kennett Square, Chester County, PA. This role involves providing treatment services to families, including therapy, counseling, and skills training for children and families to help them care for their children at home. The therapist will work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel to client homes, other agencies, and community resources. The Family Based Therapist will facilitate individual and family therapy sessions, parent coaching, and crisis intervention using an Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) model for children experiencing behavioral health problems and at risk of out-of-home placement. They will ensure necessary service linkages and community supports are in place and collaborate with a case manager as part of an interdisciplinary team. Therapists will receive extensive training and supervision in the ESFT model.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, education, rehabilitation or a graduate degree in the field of human services.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a CASSP program, experience must be with children and adolescents and include direct service.
• A valid Pennsylvania Driver's license and access to reliable transportation is a requirement.

• Experience facilitating family therapy and/or crisis intervention, de-escalation is preferred.

• Ensure that every child and family has the necessary service linkages and community supports.
• Collaborate with a case manager as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide time-limited intensive community-based ESFT treatment.
