About The Position

We’re looking for a kind, dependable, engaging, and organized person to provide household support and companionship for our 37-year-old son, who has special needs and some physical disabilities. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys spending time with people, getting out into the community, and being helpful around the home. Our son is friendly, social, and cooperative, with a great sense of humor. He enjoys music, movies, sports, art museums, walks, and community outings. This is primarily a family assistant and companion position—not a traditional caregiving or housekeeping job. Approximately half of the position will focus on supporting our son when he is not working or needs additional assistance. He typically works Monday–Friday during the day when he is feeling well. The other half will involve general household and familial support. We are a three-person household with a small dog. We’re looking for someone who will become a trusted and dependable part of our family’s support system. Our son enjoys being active and engaged and especially appreciates people who are friendly, positive, patient, and socially aware.
