About The Position

This posting is for two Teaching Assistant (TA) positions for the POTH-455 Neurophysiology course during the Fall 2025 term. TA 1 will focus on responding to student queries, coordinating and evaluating midterm exams and quizzes, and will not be expected to attend classes. TA 2 will lead small-group discussions, coordinate and evaluate group projects (written and oral presentations), organize student participation reflections, meet with students to review assignments, handle administrative tasks related to group organization and MyCourses, respond to course logistics queries, and participate in student evaluation. TA 2 is expected to attend all classes and be available in the last hour of scheduled class time.

Requirements

  • Current Masters or Doctoral student at McGill.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate teaching experience is preferred and an asset.
  • TA 1: Significant knowledge and experience in neurophysiology and neurological conditions.
  • TA 2: Knowledge of neurophysiology and of neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to student queries pertaining to course logistics (due dates, MyCourses, seminar scheduling)
  • Coordinating and evaluation of the midterm and quizzes (i.e., answering questions, marking)
  • Coordinating and evaluation of the group projects (i.e.: answering questions, marking the written projects and evaluating the oral presentations)
  • Coordinate and organize student participation reflections weekly
  • Meetings with students to review assignments
  • Administrative tasks related to the organization of groups, postings to and use of MyCourses
  • Participates in the evaluation of students in the course.
  • Facilitate small group discussions
