About The Position

OPAL-RT is looking for a FAE (Field Application Engineer) for the Essential Support team. This role involves commissioning, integration, customer support, and customer training. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a passion for simulation technology. You will work with leading companies in various sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy, and transportation. The role is primarily based in Montreal (85%) with occasional travel (15%) to customer sites, including in the United States.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (preferably), software engineering, or mechanical engineering
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience (internship experience is considered)
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
• Good command of English and French
• Passion for problem-solving
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience and/or interest in the aeronautical industry
• Experience in FPGA and VHDL programming
• Knowledge of communication protocols
• Experience in software development (Python, C++)

Responsibilities

• Provide support for our electronic products and software
