About The Position
The University of Virginia School of Architecture is seeking qualified applicants for a Faculty Wage Instructor Assistant position to support the Summer Design Institute (SDI) courses in Summer 2026. The SDI is designed to equip incoming students with the necessary methods, theories, and techniques for success in design studios, catering to landscape architects, architects, and urban planners.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching/SIA experience preferred
- Strong design skills across digital and physical media
Responsibilities
- Preparatory coordination: approximately 40 hours of combined preparatory work the weeks of June 29 and July 6, including onsite preparation the week of July 6.
- Setup for orientation on Sunday, July 10.
- Approximately 40 hours of weekly work from July 13 – August 7 including office hours and student instruction.
- Final exhibition preparation and installation.
