Faculty - Rehabilitation Medicine
About The Position
The faculty member in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at The University of Kansas Medical Center provides high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care within their area of specialization. This position is jointly employed by The University of Kansas Medical Center and The University of Kansas Health System and supports the clinical, educational, research, and service missions of both institutions. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the faculty member actively participates in the education and mentorship of learners, including medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees. The individual also contributes to departmental and divisional academic activities through teaching, scholarly engagement, committee service, and other activities that advance the missions of the department, division, and institution.
Requirements
- MD/DO or equivalent.
- Board Certified or Board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas.
Nice To Haves
- Fellowship training in Pain Medicine or Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Manage rehabilitation medicine patients/program along with teaching and scholarly activity.
- Functional restoration, medical and interventional pain management in patients with pain, spine and/or musculoskeletal rehabilitation medicine needs.
- Conduct pain, spine, and/or musculoskeletal clinics in location(s) as determined.
- Collaborate with spine surgeons, pain anesthesia and other as appropriate.
- Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and medical students when assigned.
- Lecture to fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Attend Grand Rounds as scheduled.
- Maintain scholarship commensurate with appropriate academic track.
