About The Position

The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is recruiting outstanding translational science faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to join and lead established programs within the center. Candidates will focus on areas such as Head and Neck Oncology, Malignant Hematology, Breast Oncology, Sarcoma, GU Oncology, GI Oncology, and Phase I and Experimental Therapeutics. The role involves a primary appointment in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and membership in the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. This position requires a strong track record in clinical and translational research, leadership, communication, and a history of securing funding.

Requirements

  • MD degree.
  • BC/BE (Board Certified/Board Eligible) physicians, physician scientists, and established investigators.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Publications in high-impact journals.
  • Experience in cutting-edge clinical and translational research.
  • Strong history of NIH or other peer-reviewed funding.
  • MD, PhD, or both degrees, or equivalent.
  • Relevant laboratory and leadership experience.
  • For Assistant Professor: three or more years of experience in related scientific research.
  • For Assistant Professor: ability to obtain external research funding.
  • For Associate Professor: five or more years of experience in related scientific research.
  • For Associate Professor: independent external research funding and a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • For Professor: five to seven years as Associate Professor.

Responsibilities
