About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Department of Neurology, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center are seeking an Epileptologist at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor, tenured, in the tenure stream and outside the tenure stream. The qualified Candidate must have successfully graduated from a neurology residency training program, completed a fellowship in Epilepsy and demonstrated excellence in training activities. Responsibilities include outpatient care, an interest in clinical and/or bench research, and teaching and supervision of residents and medical students. The position will serve patients at the UPMC Kaufmann Medical Building and other locations as determined by the Chairman. Candidates must be qualified for medical licensure in Pennsylvania and meet the requirements necessary for a faculty position at the University of Pittsburgh. Candidates should have a medical degree – MD, DO, or foreign equivalent, and be Board Certified or board eligible in Neurology fellowship training or its foreign equivalent.

Requirements

  • Disseminated results through peer-reviewed publications and other scientific forums (for Assistant Professor)
  • Significant teaching experience (for Assistant Professor)
  • Capacity for sustained career development, promotion, and tenure (for Assistant Professor)
  • Five or more years of experience in related scientific research (for Associate Professor)
  • Independent, external research funding and a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications (for Associate Professor)
  • Capacity for sustained, impactful, and independent scholarly contributions and leadership (for Associate Professor)
  • Served five to seven years as Associate Professor (for Professor)
  • Attained authoritative knowledge and reputation in a recognized field of learning (for Professor)
  • Achieved effective teaching skills (for Professor)
  • Attained superior stature in their field through scholarship, professional practice, and leadership in professional and learned organizations (for Professor)
