About The Position

The Faculty Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective daily operations of the Department of Medicine's Dermatology Faculty practice faculty practice at MAP2. This position provides operational leadership to support exceptional patient care, provider productivity, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service. The Faculty Practice Manager oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the practice, supervises clinical and administrative staff, and serves as a key resource for physicians, patients, and departmental leadership. This individual is responsible for coordinating practice operations, optimizing workflows, resolving operational issues, and maintaining a high level of service across the practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field, required.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, medical practice management, healthcare regulations, and revenue cycle management. required
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible healthcare management experience in an ambulatory care or physician practice setting required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and quality standards applicable to ambulatory healthcare settings.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and staff development abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree preferred in Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of a busy multi-specialty faculty practice.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support clerical and clinical staff while promoting a collaborative and patient-centered work environment.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor physician and advanced practice provider schedules to ensure appropriate clinical coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor departmental staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all operational needs.
  • Monitor, review, and process payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities, annual mandatory education, departmental in-services, and required compliance training.
  • Ensure completion of annual regulatory and organizational requirements for departmental personnel.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve workflow, patient access, and staff productivity.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily operational issues involving providers, staff, and patients.
  • Monitor staffing levels and assist with scheduling adjustments to support patient care needs.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to implement operational initiatives and achieve departmental goals.
  • Promote exceptional customer service and maintain a positive patient experience.
  • Ensure compliance with Montefiore policies, departmental procedures, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Cover other DOM practices, based on operational needs.
