About The Position

Emory University is seeking applications for tenured and tenure-track faculty positions, specifically mid-career and senior externally funded scholars, at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. The School is committed to advancing its mission to educate visionary nurse leaders and scholars, generate and apply knowledge, and transform nursing, health, and systems of health care. The positions may be appointed at the ranks of Associate, or Full Professor, commensurate with experience. The School fosters research leadership and collaborative relationships within Emory's Health Sciences Center and with other institutions and organizations, including Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Requirements

  • A research doctorate.
  • Evidence of post-doctoral training.
  • An actively funded program of research.
  • For associate and full professor levels: evidence of a sustained, extramurally funded program of research and a strong track record of publications commensurate with the rank sought.
  • For nurses: must hold or be eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia.

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals from the discipline of nursing are preferred.
  • Specializations in Health Informatics and/or Data Science/artificial intelligence related to health care including mHealth and eHealth; environmental/climate science, neuroscience/dementia, aging/caregiving, global health, clinical research (i.e. Women’s Health, Diabetes Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular, Renal, Brain Health, Symptom Science); and Social Determinants of Health are welcomed, but well-qualified individuals with other specializations are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Advance the School’s mission to educate visionary nurse leaders and scholars.
  • Generate and apply knowledge in nursing and healthcare.
  • Transform nursing, health, and systems of health care within the local and global community.
  • Conduct research in areas such as Health Informatics, Data Science/artificial intelligence related to health care, environmental/climate science, neuroscience/dementia, aging/caregiving, global health, clinical research, and Social Determinants of Health.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with colleagues within Emory University and affiliated institutions.
