About The Position

The Faculty Physician will help the Barrow Neurological Institute staff neuro-anesthesiologist provide medical services within the scope of their licensing, training, and clinical privileges. The physician will supervise and teach residents and/or fellows, supporting high-quality patient care and the education of future medical professionals. The role includes teaching community members, medical students, residents, and medical staff on clinical subjects; providing direct inpatient and outpatient care and consultations; participating in research; and contributing to departmental quality-improvement initiatives. The physician will also prepare articles and presentations on behalf of the organization and provide input to department leadership on action plans for achieving financial performance objectives.

The position is at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, a 571-bed nonprofit hospital. The organization describes its work environment as a community dedicated to service, collaboration, professional growth, and specialized care.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Successful completion of a residency program.
• Arizona MD license.
• Board qualified or certified.
• Credentialed at SJHMC.
• Membership in appropriate professional associations and societies.

Responsibilities

• Teach the lay community, medical students, residents, and medical staff on clinical subjects.
• Assist in directing patient care and medical education.
• Provide direct inpatient and outpatient medical care and consultations.
• Participate in the preparation of meaningful research and scientific activities.
• Assist the department in collecting data for its medical quality and performance-improvement program.
