Faculty Physician
About The Position
The Faculty Physician helps the Barrow Neurological Institute staff neuro-anesthesiologist provide medical services within the scope of their licensing, training, and clinical privileges. The physician supervises and teaches residents and/or fellows to support high-quality care and educate future medical professionals. The role provides direct inpatient and outpatient medical care and consultations, participates in research and scientific activities, and contributes to departmental quality improvement. The physician also prepares articles and presentations on behalf of the organization and provides input to department leadership on action plans for meeting financial performance objectives.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree.
- Successful completion of a residency program.
- Arizona MD license.
- Board qualified or certified.
- Credentialed at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.
- Membership in appropriate professional associations and societies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to teaching and mentorship.
- Dedication to patient care and continuous quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Teach the lay community, medical students, residents, and medical staff on clinical subjects.
- Assist in directing patient care and medical education.
- Provide direct inpatient and outpatient medical care and consultations.
- Participate in the preparation of meaningful research and scientific activities.
- Assist the department in collecting data for its medical quality/performance improvement program.
- Prepare articles and presentations on behalf of the organization.
- Provide input to department leadership in developing action plans to achieve the department’s financial performance objectives.
- Supervise and teach residents and/or fellows.
