The Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota invites applications to join the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition on its Luminal GI team, at the academic rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. Positions are available on the Academic or Clinician tracks. The division’s current strengths include microbiome science, inflammatory bowel disease, and artificial intelligence in endoscopy, and it plans to expand work in functional GI diseases, motility, and neurogastroenterology. The ideal candidate will have excellent general gastroenterology skills and a focused clinical interest in one of these areas. Applicants are expected to have completed training and demonstrate a strong record of clinical service, research, and teaching. They should also show an ability to collaborate across disciplines, engagement in national GI professional societies, and a publication record indicating strong academic potential. The division embraces nutrition and GI health psychology in patient care and research, and promotes team science and collaboration with basic researchers across the University. It offers academic tertiary care, established gastroenterology and hepatology fellowships, an advanced endoscopy fellowship, state-of-the-art clinics and endoscopy suites, and opportunities for continued development through educational conferences, CME, and collaboration with specialists. The position is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. The University salary depends on academic effort and begins at $55,000; total combined salary is anticipated to be $353,306–$427,739. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary is competitive with the market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Applicants must also apply for the corresponding academic position through the University employment site. Providers practice at affiliated locations under the M Health Fairview shared care delivery system, a collaboration supporting clinical care, research, and education.
