About The Position

This is a part-time adjunct instructor opportunity to teach a 3-hour lab session once a week Fall or Spring semester. The goal is to teach undergraduate students how to use the basic equipment in a fitness recreation center, including free weights and functional training such as squats. The course is introductory and designed for students with limited skills in strength and conditioning in the fitness and recreational center environment.

Requirements

  • Master's of Science degree in exercise science, strength and conditioning, athletic training, or a related field.
  • CSCS, NSCA-CPT, and/or ACSM-CPT credentials.
  • Demonstrated expertise in foundational knowledge and skill in strength and conditioning exercise and fitness.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching or coaching people regarding strength and conditioning fitness exercise.
  • Demonstrated expertise and/or a strong desire to teach students health and fitness exercise skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate students how to use basic equipment in a fitness recreation center (e.g., free weights and functional training such as squats).
  • Conduct a 3-hour lab session once a week during the Fall or Spring semester.
