About The Position

The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in Architecture. This person will teach BSD340: Detailing & Applications, an architecture course that focuses on the relationship between building materials, construction detailing, and building performance. Students develop the knowledge and skills to create effective architectural details through drawing, design, and construction exercises, with an emphasis on code compliance, durability, aesthetics, maintenance, and high-performance sustainable building practices. The available teaching assignment is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. and will be taught on campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related discipline.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, faculty and the public.
  • Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
  • Developed organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Architecture or related discipline.
  • Relevant teaching experience at a postsecondary school level.
  • Coursework in or experience using technology in instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and evaluate students in the Architecture area.
  • Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
  • Take attendance and maintain records of student attendance.
  • Participate in School assessment process.
  • Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
  • Complete any necessary trainings including but not limited to Information Security, Sexual Harassment, etc.
  • Attend school meetings as requested.
