Factory Service Engineer
About The Position
ESAB Corporation, founded in 1904, is a global leader in connected fabrication technology and gas control solutions. The company is seeking a Factory Service Engineer to join its Cutting Systems team. This role is responsible for supporting advanced thermal cutting systems, including CNC-controlled plasma and oxy-fuel equipment. The Factory Service Engineer will diagnose complex system issues, improve equipment performance, and support customers and distributors globally. This position requires troubleshooting multi-disciplinary systems involving mechanical, electrical, gas process, and CNC control technologies.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Fluent in Spanish
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
Nice To Haves
- Experience with industrial automation, CNC systems, or thermal cutting technologies
- Familiarity with PLCs, drives, or HMIs
- Bilingual skills highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical expert supporting global customers and distributors by troubleshooting CNC cutting systems, plasma cutting equipment, oxy-fuel systems, and motion control platforms via phone and remote tools
- Travel to customer sites as needed to install, commission, repair, and optimize automated cutting systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving CNC software, HMIs, drives, motors, gantry systems, height control, and gas delivery systems
- Deliver technical training programs in the field covering operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive reliability and performance improvements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to accuracy, consumable life, and efficiency
- Make customer-focused service decisions to maintain strong relationships
- Mentor and support service technicians
- Participate in rotating after-hours support
