About The Position

Micron’s Facilities Team is seeking an experienced and driven Water Service Technician to support operations at our advanced wafer fabrication facility in Boise, Idaho. This role is ideal for a proactive, safety-conscious professional with strong mechanical proficiency and a collaborative mentality. You will work closely with water services maintenance technicians to ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of critical systems.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off), progress between day and night shifts every 4 months and adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed to support business operations.
  • 2 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair on manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining industrial equipment, automation.
  • 2 years of experience in using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues.
  • 4 years of experience maintaining manufacturing or automation equipment, including leading related improvement projects with a focus on scope, schedule, and budget management.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation systems, or equivalent technical military background.
  • Experience leading equipment maintenance and improvement projects, with a focus on meeting defined scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist in resolving safety and quality issues with cross-functional partners.
  • Document hardware and process deviations, contributing to solutions that prevent recurrence and improve tool reliability.
  • Maintain cleanroom organization and participate in improvement initiatives focused on equipment availability and efficiency.
  • Safely perform tasks involving bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working with arms raised; regularly lift 25–40 lbs.
  • Operate hand-held tools for light assembly and safely handle gases and chemicals used in production and maintenance.
  • Maintain situational awareness to identify and respond to hazardous conditions; consistently follow safety protocols and wear required PPE.
  • Stand for up to 10 hours and walk 1–5 miles per shift, navigating uneven terrain and confined spaces as needed.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills and Microsoft Office tools to manage tasks, communicate effectively, and support operational goals.
