About The Position

This is a temporary/seasonal position within the Parks & Recreation department. The Facility Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of assigned facilities, including opening and closing procedures, monitoring participants and spectators, maintaining equipment, and ensuring facility cleanliness. This role operates under the supervision of Kingsport Parks & Recreation Program Coordinators, Program Administrators, and Program Leaders. The City of Kingsport is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old.
• Knowledge of specified programs and equipment.
• Ability to work with the public in a respectful manner.
• Ability to self-motivate and make decisions based on evaluating a situation.
• Must be dependable.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for the majority of the required shift.
• Must be able to work outside for the entire scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the facilities.
• Setting up, breaking down, and storing equipment.
• Keeping inventory of program equipment and paperwork and communicating supply needs.
• Ensuring timesheets are completed and submitted.
• Maintaining participant and crowd control and enforcing facility rules.
• Periodically checking parking lots, facility grounds, and playground areas for trash or maintenance issues.
• Ensuring the facility, including restrooms, is clean and free of trash upon opening and closing.
• Filling out accident/incident reports as needed.
