About The Position

Facility Helpers perform duties of assigned facilities including but not limited to: opening/closing facilities, monitoring/controlling participants and spectators, maintaining program and facility equipment, and facility cleanliness. This position works under the supervision of Kingsport Parks & Recreation Program Coordinators, Program Administrators, & Program Leaders & Facility Supervisors. Requirements

• Must be 15 years old.
• Knowledge of specified programs and equipment.
• Ability to work with the public in a respectful manner.
• Ability to self-motivate and make decisions based on evaluating a situation.
• Must be dependable and able to work nights and weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for the majority of the required shift.
• Must be able to work outside for the entire scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for opening and closing the facilities.
• Responsible for setting up, breaking down, and storing any equipment needed.
• Responsible for keeping inventory of program equipment and paperwork then communicating to KPR when supplies run low.
• Ensure that time sheets are filled out completely and submitted to KPR.
• Maintain participant and crowd control, while ensuring that all facility rules are being followed.
• Periodically checking parking lots, facility grounds, and playground areas for trash or potential maintenance issues.
• Ensure that the facility is clean and free of trash when opening and closing facilities Including Restrooms.
• Fill out accident/incident reports as needed.
• Report to Facility Supervisors is issues arise with customers or facilities.
