The Facility Shift Manager delivers exceptional customer service to all students, faculty, members and guests and is responsible for providing a clean, safe, and friendly environment. The Facility Shift Manager is responsible for monitoring and managing facility usage and activities within the HHPC activity wing. Requirements

  • Knowledge of facilities management and business management principles.
  • Knowledge of supervising employees and working with the public.
  • Knowledge of SJC and HHPC college policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of part-time temp positions and duties.
  • Knowledge of quality customer service standards.
  • Knowledge of proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Skill in the operation of computers, point of sale system, job related software programs and applications, and ID machine.
  • Skill in decision-making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing co-workers and the public.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in working effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and supervise part-time staff during shift.
  • Monitor and manage facility usage and activities within the activity wing of the HHPC; enforce HHPC and SJC policies and procedures.
  • Open and close the HHPC; ensure facility is staffed appropriately at all times and assist in finding shift coverage; delegate shift duties to ensure customer service and safety standards are followed.
  • Prepare opening and closing duty report; complete and file appropriate shift paperwork.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, members and guests.
  • Recommend sports equipment and fitness equipment purchases.
  • Proactively and accurately respond to questions regarding memberships, rentals, and programs.
  • Assist HHPC coordinators with program facilitation, set up and break down; assist in implementing emergency response plans.
  • Solve problems and resolve conflict.
  • Submit complete and accurate work-orders, incident reports, and accident reports.
  • Maintain security standards and coordinate with SJC Department of Public Safety.
  • Assist in coordinating the cleaning of the facility and equipment.
  • Oversee special events in the activity wing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
