About The Position

Aurex is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to serve as the designated security authority for the cleared operations of multiple CAGEs under the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). This role is critical to our mission and carries full-spectrum responsibility for compliance with Department of Defense and other federal agency requirements. The successful candidate must operate independently with minimal oversight while managing competing priorities including personnel clearances, facility clearance administration, insider threat reporting, and day-to-day security operations. As the FSO, you will serve as the primary liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), ensuring audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and proactive program management. You will balance security rigor with operational execution, embedding requirements into business processes without impeding contract performance. This role reports to the Vice President / Chief of Security & Facilities Operations and supports the cleared operations of the enterprise across multiple locations and entities.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of industrial security experience in a cleared defense contractor environment.
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance (Secret required; TS/SCI strongly preferred).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), SEAD directives, and Insider Threat Program requirements.
  • Experience with DISS, NBIS, NISS, SWFT, and other security systems of record.
  • Proven track record of managing DCSA inspections and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Exceptional organizational, accountability, judgment, and communication skills with the ability to influence across functions.
  • Prior completion (or ability to complete within 90 days) of CDSE’s FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end personnel clearance process, from initiation and periodic reinvestigations to debriefings. Maintain clearance records in DISS/NBIS and oversee all SEAD 3 reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with DCSA. Maintain our facility clearance status, ensure timely filings in NISS, and oversee our facility security profile.
  • Manage DD Form 254s for prime and subcontractor contracts. Develop and enforce the company’s Security Standard Practices and Procedures (SPP), conduct internal self-inspections, and track key security metrics.
  • Establish and enforce controls for the handling, storage, and destruction of classified information. Implement physical security measures, including access controls and alarm systems.
  • Support the Insider Threat Program and respond to potential security violations. Conduct root cause analyses and report adverse information in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Ensure 100% completion of security training and deliver new employee orientations and briefings. Play a key role in driving a company-wide "culture of security."
  • Partner with HR, IT, and other teams to integrate security requirements across the organization. Advise leadership on the security impact of organizational changes and new contracts.
