About The Position

At Wenzel, we build mission-critical RF and microwave solutions for defense and space applications. We’re looking for a part-time FSO/ISSM to manage our cleared security program and support cybersecurity compliance. Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It: As our FSO/ISSM extraordinaire, your job is to unleash your superhuman abilities and manage security compliance at cleared defense contractor facilities while focusing on cybersecurity and authorized information systems. You'll work alongside some of the sharpest minds in the RF and microwave industry. Oh, and did we mention that you'll be based in the heart of Austin, Texas, where the tech scene is as hot as our BBQ? Here's What You'll Be Doing: Industrial Security (FSO) Maintain Facility Clearance (FCL) and NISPOM compliance (32 CFR Part 117) Serve as primary interface with DCSA Manage DISS, NBIS, and NISS activities Oversee personnel clearances, visit requests, and reporting (SEAD 3) Conduct self-inspections and support DCSA assessments Information System Security (ISSM) Lead RMF-based system authorization (SSP, POA&M, eMASS) Ensure compliance with NIST SP800-171 and DFARS 252.204-7012 Maintain SPRS score and support CMMC readiness Oversee classified and CUI systems, including lab/test equipment Manage incident response and reporting Cross-Functional Support Partner with engineering and IT on secure system architecture Support classified program execution and DD254 interpretation

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD clearance (Secret or higher)
  • Prior FSO/ISSM experience in a cleared facility
  • Experience with NISPOM and industrial security programs
  • Hands-on RMF / ISSM experience in DoD environments
  • Working knowledge of DISS, NBIS, NISS, and eMASS

Nice To Haves

  • CMMC / SPRS experience
  • Completion (or progress toward) DCSA FSO training
  • Security certifications (Security+, CISSP) Familiarity with lab/test equipment security (e.g., RF test systems, Windows-based instruments)
