About The Position

We are looking for a Facility Safety Specialist to join our team! The Facility Safety Specialist supports site safety and facility improvement efforts by helping identify, evaluate, and correct workplace hazards. This role combines safety-focused responsibilities with mechanical and hands-on problem-solving skills to support audits, inspections, observations, corrective actions, and equipment safety improvements. They will help ensure work areas, equipment, and facility conditions are maintained in a safe and compliant manner. This position will assist with identifying risks related to equipment, walking-working surfaces, housekeeping, machine guarding, and general facility conditions, while helping implement practical corrective actions such as guarding, barriers, signage, repairs, and process improvements. This role requires the ability to work in a large, fast-paced manufacturing environment and support both proactive safety activities and hands-on facility improvements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Forklift/PIT, aerial lift, first aid/CPR, or OSHA 10/30 certification
  • Mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience with equipment, tools, repairs, guarding, or facility-related work.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards, workplace safety requirements, and safety program expectations.
  • Comfortable working in a large, fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, observations, or corrective action follow-up.
  • Hands-on mechanical experience, including troubleshooting, repairs, equipment modifications, guarding, or fabrication
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and understand basic equipment manuals, maintenance documentation, safety procedures, and inspection checklists.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and non-climate-controlled areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working throughout the facility as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Prior experience in safety, facilities, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment preferred.
