About The Position

The Facility Repair Specialist monitors and maintains the general condition, cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of Old Dominion facilities. The hands-on role involves routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, equipment and system repairs, and ensuring that work is completed safely and in compliance with relevant codes. The specialist follows scheduled maintenance plans, maintains records, handles emergency repairs or coordinates with outside vendors, and helps keep the workspace safe and well maintained for employees and visitors.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in stressful situations.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, and electrical issues.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep cleaning equipment and facilities operational, safe, and compliant with relevant codes by scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Follow daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance schedules and maintain records of completed maintenance.
• Perform emergency or unscheduled repairs as needed, or arrange for outside repair vendors, such as plumbers.
• Keep fire extinguisher inspections current.
• Replace water cooler, refrigerator, and building filters on schedule.
• Follow all safety guidelines for equipment and materials used in daily work.
