About The Position

Receives, stores, cares for and distributes grain and other products within the company. This role involves unloading, cleaning, storing, and maintaining grain quality during storage. It also includes moving grain within the location, cleaning and inspecting bins, and loading grain for shipment. The position requires maintaining the warehouse, location grounds, and equipment to company standards, and assisting with other location functions during slower periods. Additionally, the role involves assisting with inventory records and other maintenance and housekeeping logs. Monitoring temperature cables, walking flats, tracking fan usage, monitoring bunker storage, and monitoring grain dryer output are key duties to ensure exceptional grain inventory quality. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • No Computer skills needed.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Depth perception.
  • Exposed to long seasonal work hours.

  • May be required to maintain a current weighing license and grain grading certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Unloads, cleans, stores, and maintains grain received at the location.
  • Ensures grain quality is maintained during storage process.
  • Moves grain within location, cleans and inspects bins, and loads grain for shipment.
  • Maintains warehouse, location grounds and equipment to acceptable company standards.
  • Assists with other location functions as needed during “slow” times.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory records, as well as other maintenance and housekeeping records in appropriate log books.
  • Assists in monitoring temperature cables, walking flats, tracking fan usage, monitoring bunker storage, monitoring grain dryer output and other location specific duties to ensure exceptional grain inventory quality.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
