About The Position

The Facility Operations Manager will serve as the primary liaison for addressing operational, contractual, and financial matters with a customer service mindset. This role involves preparing and delivering accurate monthly operational and financial reports, developing, managing, and tracking operating budgets and financial forecasts to align with organizational objectives. The manager will delegate tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accountability across the team, serving as a role model, mentor, and trusted resource to staff and stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing subcontractors and vendor relationships, overseeing KPI management, ensuring the quality of data entered into the CMMS, and administering documentation related to contract requirements. The role also involves reviewing, developing, and implementing operational procedures, providing oversight of day-to-day operations and long-term planning, managing staff, and providing technical and managerial guidance to the operations team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience in a facilities management discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of management and leadership experience with a reputable organization.
  • Proficient with Windows‑based software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project.
  • Experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams and cross‑functional working groups.
  • Proven experience leading customer and stakeholder meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operations in compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
  • Track record of developing a team culture focused on Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.
  • Hands‑on experience managing preventive maintenance and repairs for MEP, fire alarm systems, security systems, and building automation systems.
  • Experience with building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, security cameras, access control, and related facility infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting mission‑critical or high‑availability facilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA codes, regulations, and safety compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and as‑built drawings.
  • Strong ability to comprehend complex contract terms and performance requirements.
  • Comfortable taking off-hour calls and responding to emergencies when necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • BOMA and/or IFMA designation (RPA/CFM) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supervisors and staff, including hiring, promotions, recognition, and performance improvement plans.
  • Provide technical and managerial guidance to the operations team.
