About The Position

The Facility Nurse Educator is responsible for assessing the orientation and continuing education needs of the nursing team. This role involves developing and conducting facility-specific orientation for both licensed and non-licensed nursing staff, including facilitating 30-day new employee orientation and 90-day reunion sessions as part of the facility's service excellence initiatives. The educator designs programs to enhance nursing practice and ensure compliance with licensure and certification requirements. They also coordinate with Nurse Managers for student placements, orientation, and preceptorships for undergraduate and graduate students, utilizing adult education principles to plan, design, and implement educational activities based on identified learning needs.

Requirements

  • Current applicable state RN licensure required.
  • BSN required.
  • 3 years clinical experience in related area (OR, ER, acute care) required.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty certification may be preferred or required for specific area (e.g., Med Ctr Air Flight Nurse Educator).

  • Assesses learning needs through direct observation, formal needs assessment, and program evaluation or other organizational activity reports.
