About The Position

Join Our Team at Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site The Kentucky Department of Parks is hiring a Facility Maintenance Worker II to help preserve and maintain one of Kentucky's most significant historic landmarks. As our Facilities Maintenance Worker II, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the Perryville Battlefield running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include: Operation and maintenance of a 1,200-acre park, including building maintenance, grounds maintenance, mowing, weed eating, mechanical experience Training for license or certification in chainsaw safety and pesticide license. The knowledge to use small power equipment including golf carts, gator, zero turn lawn mowers, line trimmers, chain saw and large equipment including tractors and bushhogs. Maintain the park by moving heavy objects, trash cans, logs, etc. Work alongside team members and staff in all areas to accomplish the goals of the park including minor electrical and plumbing repairs, carpentry, and other general maintenance.

Requirements

  • One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
