About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) which serve 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state operated school facility dedicated to the primary purpose of offering state approved four (4)- course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways within CTE program areas identified by the OCTE. OUR CORE VALUES Equity Achievement Collaboration Integrity The Greenup County Area Technology Center in Greenup, KY is looking for a Facility Maintenance Worker II who is dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of students. This position offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic, challenging, and student-focused environment.

Requirements

One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and performs general maintenance and various janitorial duties in the upkeep of buildings, grounds and associated equipment; and performs other duties as assigned.
Coordinates and plans the maintenance services of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment in accordance with Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) standards. Coordinates with supervisors and facility managers to prioritize work orders and allocate resources efficiently.
Performs carpentry repairs to buildings and equipment.
Performs painting on buildings and equipment.
Makes routine plumbing repairs, sewage systems, and electrical repairs on equipment.
Operates machinery and equipment in the mowing and trimming of lawn.
Paints surfaces such as walls, doors, and other surfaces as required.
Moves furniture, equipment, etc when necessary.
Performs janitorial duties in maintaining buildings and adjacent areas.
Performs other duties as assigned.
