About The Position

This role is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of facilities. The position involves general maintenance applicable to the duties described, with a strong emphasis on safety and attention to detail in both work and documentation. The role also requires rotating on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Driving record acceptable to agency insurance company.
  • Acceptable background check.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds alone and up to 100 or more pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to exert 60 to 100 or more pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 to 50 pounds of force frequently.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding and maintain body equilibrium.
  • Ability to reach forward, backward and upward with hands and arms.
  • Ability to use fingers for picking up objects, determining texture and temperature.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to reach forward with hands and arms.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, push, pull or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Specific communication abilities: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word.
  • Specific hearing abilities: perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to take precautions in hot and cold environments and work in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to work under vehicles that are up on a lift.
  • Ability to work with hands overhead.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions such as extreme heat, ice and snow, rain and mud.
  • Willingness to be trained on and required to follow Universal Precautions.
  • Willingness to be trained on and required to follow proper body mechanics and procedures for lifting/moving objects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plumbing repairs, replacements, and installations, including faucets, pipes, water heaters, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, refrigerators, and washing machines.
  • Conduct electrical repairs, replacements, and installations, including switches, circuit breakers, outlets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, 220V appliance plugs, and thermostats.
  • Perform painting and drywall repairs for interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Repair, replace, and install appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, washers, and dryers.
  • Undertake exterior repairs, including roof shingles, gutters, downspouts, window screens, doors, and evaporative coolers.
  • Perform snow removal, including shoveling, blowing, or plowing snow from walkways and driveways, and applying salt to icy surfaces.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to organize work orders and complete maintenance requests in a timely manner based on urgency.
  • Maintain daily work order tracking and other required forms and logs on a computer.
  • Effectively communicate with all program areas.
  • Work with others in a positive manner.
  • Work with minimal supervision and recognize situations where assistance is needed.
  • Perform duties and conduct interactions with agency staff, clients, and the public in a professional manner consistent with Community Options, Inc. values.
  • Deal with stress and stressful situations in an effective, productive manner.
  • Promote and maintain appropriate professional and ethical relationships in accordance with policies, rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required for the proficient operation of the Maintenance Department.
  • Be responsible for on-call duties on a rotating basis with other members of the Maintenance Team.
