About The Position

Responsible to conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures to maintain a functional building, performing routine building maintenance activities in one or more fields such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC).

Requirements

  • High School diploma, technical school and/or military training and experience in relevant field (Electrical Tech, Industrial Maintenance, plumbing etc.)
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing or facility work performing instrumentation and calibrations, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical assemblies.
  • Construction skills such carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and welding.
  • Critical thinking and problem resolving skills for fixing maintenance issues.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Mathematical and numerical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must speak English.
  • Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations and accurately record data.
  • Strong common sense.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency to resolve issues.
  • Must be willing to work overtime weekends, holidays, and varying/rotating shifts as required.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to move, lift and handle equipment.
  • Deal with long hours standing or walking.
  • Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions and sometimes working at heights.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Works independently but in collaboration with other maintenance technicians.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • An energetic team player who is flexible and adaptable.
  • High level of initiative and works well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work to maintain a functional building for workers.
  • Work closely with other maintenance technician to respond to maintenance requests for clogged drains, leaking vents, or damaged walls and other installations.
  • Complete maintenance work to the exterior of facilities including painting, replacing windows, or making repairs.
  • Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities.
  • Oversee services that provide trash removal.
  • Support the set-up ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when is needed.
  • Inspect alarm systems and fire protection and quickly repair when necessary.
  • Fixing, repairing, and performing troubleshooting on boilers, heat pumps, air-conditioning, chillers and refrigeration units.
  • Oversee abnormalities to aid smooth operations in a timely manner.
  • Schedule, Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance job duties on electrical or mechanical systems and appliances.
  • Take part in root cause evaluation of electrical-mechanical equipment and then perform corrective action for progressive improvements.
  • Modification and installation work on existing and new mechanical units.
  • Monitors controls and electrical equipment to ensure effective and efficient service.
  • Collects equipment operation history and data to facilitate reliability improvements.
  • Assist facility technicians and engineers in trouble shooting and diagnostic analysis.
  • Maintain and control work order system and spare parts inventory.
  • Develops operating procedures for facility equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation.
  • Trains and develops other employees in performing preventive maintenance and routine equipment service activities.
  • Must follow all instruction related to Food Defense, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP program.
  • Everyone at STS must report to the Food Safety Department or their direct supervisor any problem or irregular situation related to food safety.
  • Responsible for proper use of all mixing chemicals used in the maintenance process, cleaning/sanitation procedure.
  • Maintain logs and documents related with food safety.
  • Keeping all MSDS information for the product that they use.
  • Must be willing to work overtime weekends, holidays and varying/rotating shifts as required.
  • Required to comply with and ensure all general safety, OSHA, USDA/APHIS, FDA and State of Texas regulations for position and facility operations.
  • Support and maintain inventory controls for maintenance schedules with Maintenance & Engineering management, both initial and long term in the CMMS.
  • Must follow all instruction related to Food Defense, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP program.
  • Must report to the Food Safety Department or direct supervisor any problem or irregular situation at their work location.
  • Enforce security and food safety standards, policies, and programs related to HACCP, and third-party standards, regulatory standards, food safety training programs, product inspections, and any work instructions.
  • Required to comply with and ensure all general safety, OSHA, USDA/APHIS, FDA and State of Texas regulations for position and facility operations.
  • Must be willing to work overtime weekends, holidays and varying shifts as required.
  • Be able to cross trains and be proactive in the department.
  • Support in other operational activities, special tasks and/or project as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality & Food Safety Management System in accordance with relevant internal, external standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices by following GMP protocols.
  • Ensure compliance to Standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and safety.
  • Report on deviations on Food safety / Quality / Safety to the supervisor immediately.
  • Perform routine inspections as per standard requirements and timely data entry.
  • Maintain clean and hygienic work environment.
  • Participate in Food Safety, Safety and Quality related training.
