Requirements

  • Three years of related mechanical experience and or training in drives, conveyors, gearboxes, automated packaging systems, material handling and or other similar equipment.
  • Two years of basic electrical and electronics experience and or training.
  • Two years of experience with various types of welding, cutting and fabrication processes.
  • Must be self- motivated and able to work in a wet, cool and sometimes unpleasant environment with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to read and write in English and have good math skills.
  • Must have a demonstrated history of dependability, particularly with regard to safety and attendance.
  • Must be able to lift containers weighing 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Must be able to work in confined places.
  • Must be willing and able to work various shifts, over time and non-standard work times.
  • Must have own tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with packaging machinery, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and implement effective solutions to minimize production disruptions.
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Document maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and part replacements, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new packaging equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment components, and reorder as needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in all maintenance activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to production operators on proper equipment usage and maintenance procedures.
