Facility Maintenance Team Member - SportsOhio
About The Position
The Facility Maintenance Team Member assists with the daily maintenance of SportsOhio’s building, turf, and grounds, working across various areas of the facility. The role also supports events and crowd control and follows facility emergency procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies to help protect patrons and employees. Responsibilities include maintaining courts, offices, equipment, guest areas, bathrooms, and floor surfaces; removing trash; monitoring and cleaning spills; and supporting guests with courteous service, information, and directions. The position also involves groundskeeping, equipment and machinery operation, parking lot upkeep, supply inventory, maintenance logs, and coordinating repair work with facility management. Team members may assist other departments and complete additional projects and assignments as directed.
Requirements
- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed.
- Consistent and regular attendance.
- Demonstrated experience cleaning a high-volume, multiple-program facility.
- Knowledge of the safe and effective use of appropriate cleaning products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Maintain courts, offices, and equipment as required.
- Monitor for spills throughout the facility and clean them as needed.
- Clean all facility floor surfaces and glass.
- Clean, restock, and maintain bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
- Clean guest seating and the lobby area.
- Remove facility trash.
- Assist other departments as necessary.
- Provide courteous and friendly service to guests, answering questions and giving directions as needed.
- Maintain general knowledge of program options and facility events.
- Operate multi-line phones as needed.
- Respond to guest concerns and direct them to the appropriate manager.
- Monitor the overall appearance and cleanliness of the building.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair work with the Facility Manager to maximize use of retail, restaurant, and dorm areas.
- Monitor walkways and flower beds and keep them clear of weeds, grass, trash, water, and ice.
- Assist with the dorm maintenance plan and log, including repairs and cleaning.
- Operate and maintain sports equipment and machinery.
- Assist in maintaining trees, shrubbery, and flower beds.
- Clean and maintain the parking lot.
- Maintain inventories of supplies and equipment and keep maintenance logs.
- Follow up with guests to learn how the facility can be improved.
- Complete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as directed by management.
