Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional maintenance related education preferred
  • Four years’ experience in facilities maintenance required.
  • Thorough knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Able to use testing instruments common to the mechanical trades.
  • Basic computer skills required, proficiency in Operative IQ preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured, non-routine environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record as determined by our insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to respond or coordinate 24/7 to maintenance issues that require immediate attention.

Responsibilities

  • Performs major and non-routine plumbing, electrical, carpentry, general maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintains building equipment in a neat and organized manner.
  • Oversees and/or works with outside vendors to complete projects.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and communicating project plans to the Director of Logistics.
  • Provides input into the maintenance budget and ensures expenses are managed accordingly.
  • Manage all MedFlight MedCare Ambulance facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and laws; identify and evaluate new facility locations during relocations or expansions.
  • Assist the Director of Logistics with departmental budget development and maintain expenses within approved limits.
  • Oversee snow and ice removal at all facilities, including tarmac and parking areas; ensure satellite bases have required equipment and backup plans.
  • Perform or coordinate plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance; evaluate ROI of internal work vs. outsourcing and oversee vendor performance.
  • Maintain an up-to-date service vendor directory within Operative IQ.
  • Manage landscaping to ensure a professional appearance at all MedFlight facilities.
  • Oversee cleaning services at headquarters, Blazer Parkway, and Paragon, ensuring facility cleanliness and addressing issues with the vendor.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance, including compressors, emergency lighting, oxygen storage, water system motors, hangar doors, grounds, fuel storage, detectors, drainage systems, thermostat settings, lint traps, generators, and Operative IQ ticketing.
  • Receive, track, resolve, and close all maintenance requests via Operative IQ.
  • Maintain ability to work at all bases and support mode transitions when primary modes are unavailable.
  • Participate in committees, task forces, and special projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate with Ohio Fire Service for fire extinguisher inspection/testing and ensure documentation in Operative IQ.
  • Ensure all facilities meet established safety compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Director, Regional Directors, Operational Director and MICU Supervisor to update facility-related Emergency Operations Plans.
