Facility Maintenance Specialist
About The Position
The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for an Facilities Maintenance Specialist. This is a permanent full-time state position located at Camp Withycombe in Clackamas, Oregon. This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees’ (AFSCME) union. This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Requirements
- Two (2) years of general building maintenance, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting or plastering experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record or have reliable alternative mode of transportation.
- General computer skills that include but are not limited to, sending and retrieving emails, filling out digital order forms, time entry, using a computer to complete assigned trainings, and building operating systems.
- Have knowledge of the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must have and maintain a favorable Criminal background History check and be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Department of Defense National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Suitability Determination (T1).
- Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPM’s, Policies, and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy 50-000-01.

- A journeyman's license/card in any of the above trades will substitute for this experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide semi-skilled facility maintenance and repair, facility rental administration, and general armory cleaning to National Guard facilities, in support of the Oregon Army National Guard, and the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Branch of the Oregon Military Department, and in compliance with State and Federal laws or regulations, policies, manuals, and procedures.
